The Guyana Football Federation (GFF) yesterday invited 20 players to begin an intensive training clinic for possible selection on the Guyana team to contest the Caribbean Football Union/FIFA World Cup qualifiers to be played in Grenada from May 1-13.
The players are scheduled to attend a training session with Technical Director of the GFF, Jamal Shabazz on Sunday from 11am at the Independence (Parade) ground.
The 20 players selected are (goalkeepers) Owen Williams, Roncy Caleb, Richie Richards.
(Defenders) Michael Crandon, Travis Henry, Cloyd Kieron, Trevon Lythcott, Fitzroy Weatherspoon, Calvin De Souza and (midfielders) Keiron Cameron, Vernon John, Kris Camacho, Odell Williams, Lumumba Hinds and Joel Simon. The forwards are Andrew Murray jnr., Dwayne Blake, Telson McKinnon, Derrick Hatton and Les Charles Critchlow.
According to a release from the GFF, Shabazz will be conducting Sunday’s clinic while four coaches namely, Kayode McKinnon, Sampson Gilbert, Bilaal Nantambu and Keith O’Jeer will assist.
