The Lusignan Golf Club will come alive with two major tournaments this week, the first is set for Thursday (Youman Nabi) while the other is set for Easter Saturday (Phagwah).
Close to thirty golfers are expected to participate in the second annual Ivan Mackie Memorial Golf tournament slated for Thursday.
The format for the tournament is the full handicap Stableford and there will be prizes for the top three finishers as well as the nearest to the pin prize at the number eight hole. Tee off is at 11:30 hours but the players are asked to assemble at 11:20am for a Shotgun start.
Mr. and Mrs. David De Caries, who will oversee the sponsorship of the tournament, are expected to be on hand to assist in the presentation of prizes.
On Saturday the golfers will battle in the Grand Coastal Inn sponsored Medal Play tournament.
Prizes will once again be presented to the top three finishers along with a prize for the player nearest to the flag to hole number four.
Among the players expected to be on show are Patrick Prashad who won last Saturday’s DeSinco Trading sponsored tournament, Mike Mangal, Chatterpaul Deo, Bolaram Deo, Gavin Todd, Brian Glasford, Ian Gouveia, Colin Ming, Mel Sankies, Ronald Bulkan and Christine Sukhram.
Tee off is at 12:00 hours.
