Dear Editor,
The People’s National Congress Reform (PNC/R) is clearly entrenched in using destabilizing tactics in relation to security matters in this country.
There were several women who are known to be PNC supporters, protesting outside of the courts in support of ex-soldier Oliver Hinckson with some disgusting placards, one of which read no bail no peace.
The PNC cannot change; I always remember the words of their former leader Hugh Desmond Hoyte, slow fire. This is their kind of attitude, so why do they get annoyed when people say they are not in favour of peace? Their actions speak louder.
Now we see them placing their members and supporters on high alert to respond to “provocation” by the security forces and the government. If people read between the lines, it is clear what they are trying to do: to put their supporters against the police.
This is a dangerous precedent, one that could backfire on these same people who may one day find themselves in need of the lawmen to protect them or find a perpetrator who may commit an injustice against them.
Yours faithfully,
Ron Brown
