GEORGETOWN, Guyana – The fun filled Digicel/Soctiabank Cricket Experience kicked off yesterday in Guyana at the Merriman’s Mall opposite the Bourda Cricket Ground.
The many fans who visited the DSCE participated in several of the eleven exciting and action packed games with the winners walking away with cool prizes including MP3 players and other Digicel merchandise.
The DSCE is a new dimension to the Digicel Home Series which is geared towards fans of all ages participating in fun cricket related games regardless of their ages or skill levels. In addition to the MP3 players and other Digicel merchandise fans can also win mobile phones and Digicel Top Up.
So if you think you can bat or bowl or catch or that you’re a cricket knowledgeable then you just need to go to the Digicel/Scotiabank Cricket Experience anytime between 10am and 5pm today and tomorrow and you can test your skills and win various prizes.
In one of the favourite games fans have their throwing arms tested. They are given a number of tennis balls and asked to throw at a set of stumps. The speed of each throw is tested by a speed gun. The speed for each throw which hits the stumps is recorded and at the end of the day the person with the highest speed in each category (kids, teenagers and adults compete separately) will be awarded the prize of the day which can very well be one of Digicel’s excellent mobile phones.
The DSCE will have an integrated Scotiabank Kiddies Cricket component – the supremely popular junior cricket programme run by the official bank of West Indies cricket.
And the fun does not even end with the games and prizes but there will be the superb additional bonus of the chance to interact, take photos and get autographs from various West Indies players who will visit the DSCE at various stages.
Today, champion race car driver Mark Vieira along with soca star Malo will be at the DSCE and tomorrow various West Indies star players will be visiting to DSCE in order to interact with fans, take photos and oblige autograph seekers.
Digicel and Scotiabank is especially encouraging families to take advantage of the Digicel Scotiabank Cricket Experience to enjoy a clean atmosphere of fun and excitement and the added bonuses of winning cool prizes and meeting the various West Indies players from the more established stars to the new selectees such as local boy Sewnarine Chattergoon among others.
