The Georgetown All-Stars basketball team defeated the Linden All-Stars 87-79 to win the first ever schools’ All-Star game in the Guyana Secondary Schools Basketball Association’s (GSSBA)post season at the Cliff Anderson Sports Hall yesterday. If there was an award for the most valuable player in the game it would have certainly been awarded to Central High School’s point-guard Travis Burnett who registered a game-high 25 points. Burnett played most of the game and had his way with the Linden defenders who were not familiar with his explosive and fearless style of play.
Utilizing their home-court advantage, Georgetown got out to an early lead, not even giving the visitors a chance to settle in as they raced to a 19-point lead before halftime.
