A 19-year-old teenager who stole a cellular phone worth $25,000 appeared yesterday before the Georgetown Magistrate’s Court.
Timothy Adolph of 476 North East La Penitence pleaded guilty to the charge of robbery with violence but offered the court an explanation.
Adolph told the court that he knew he did something wrong and he was sorry for it. He further explained that his mother has already bought a phone to replace the virtual complainant’s (VC) stolen one.
However, the defendant’s mother couldn’t provide a receipt for the cellular phone and the VC refused to accept the replacement without a receipt being handed over.
Adolph was remanded to prison and Principal Magistrate Melissa Robertson-Ogle gave the defendant’s mother until today to return to court with the receipt for the cellular phone so that it could be handed over to the VC.
