The team tournament has so far attracted six teams. Each team consists of five players, varying in skill level and each player is matched up against a player from the opposing team with their corresponding ranking/skill level.

Tournament co-coordinator, Robert Fernandes, told Stabroek Sport that there was a great need for such tournaments in an individual sport such as squash to help playersโ€™ foster habits of teamwork and cooperative skills.

Fernandes added that the tournament was patterned after the team tournament at the Caribbean Squash Championships.

The tournament will also include a novice category which will be an individual tournament involving some eight players.
