Paul Charles and Zandy Mc Rae, finalists in the Guyana Model Search have emerged as winners of the Donn Thompson Photo Shoot segment of the competition and will be contracted as the faces of Mariska’s Designs Guyana and Sacha Cosmetics Guyana respectively.
Thompson a celebrity photographer, descended on Guyana to work his magic with contestants of the Guyana Model Search, a press release said, adding that the results were simply amazing.
The photo shoot was the second challenge and it was the deciding that factor that kept some models in or out of the competition.
The release, from Kofi Akeem Branch, Senior Editor – Shabeau Magazine, said Zandy, with a new haircut blew onlookers away with her sultry moves, amazing eyes and daring look and Paul’s suave metrosexual look set him apart from the other guys.
On April 6, at Le Meridien Pegasus beginning at 7.30 pm, the contestants will present ‘Glamorous’ a Caribbean runway extravaganza at which the male and female winners of the competition will be decided.
To celebrate the achievements of all the finalists, Kofi said, designers from Barbados, Trinidad, Jamaica and Guyana have produced lines “suited for kings and queens of fashion”.
The finalists include Paul, Zandy, Ayanna Harris, Michael Younge, Chanelly Kendal, Jenel Cox and Anthony Snow.
Prizes for the winners will come from the competition’s Digicel, Sacha Cosmetics Guyana, and NCN and also include appearances at Guyana Fashion Weekend and Trinidad Fashion Weekend, a spread in Shabeau Magazine, a cover shot on a new Caribbean Magazine and a trip to Kaieteur Falls among other things, the release said.
