The Good Shepherd Academy of Bullet Wood Street, Mackenzie, Linden has received assistance from Banks DIH Limited for the completion of an Early Learning Centre in the mining town.
Founder of the Centre, Dott Yearwood was presented with a set of building fixtures including window awnings and a purpleheart door by Banks DIH Human Resources Director Andrew Carto and Linden Branch Manager Shaundell Easton. Also present was the property engineer Curtis Vanvier.
Yearwood expressed gratitude to Banks DIH for the timely donation. “I decided to approach Banks DIH for assistance and the company readily responded, my heartfelt appreciation to Mr. Clifford Reis and all those who were involved in making the items available,” she said.
The two-storey building will house a play school, kindergarten, nursery and an after-school club for the Linden community. There will also be a library, computer room and an auditorium with a seating capacity for over 100 persons.
The building is expected to be opened by the end of April and will cater for children as young as three months while the after-school club will be for children whose parents work late.
