Several people were injured in a collision between a minibus and a truck on the Mahaicony Public Road, East Coast Demerara last evening.
At least seven people were treated for various injuries at the Georgetown Public Hospital following the accident. One person reportedly suffered internal injuries.
A passenger who was in the minibus, in deep shock at the hospital, said the bus with about seven people, was heading to Mahaicony when the collision occurred. He said the truck, which was heading in the direction of the city, had no lights. Parts of the bus were reportedly flattened by the impact.
