Three men all armed with firearms attacked and robbed a businessman of Rampoor Housing Scheme, Corentyne and his wife at about 3.30 am on Tuesday, Police said.
According to a press release from the Guyana Police Force yesterday, investigations revealed that the victims were asleep when they were awakened by the bandits who gained entry to the house by breaking through a window.
“They were held at gunpoint and robbed of the businessman’s licensed .32 pistol and rounds along with a quantity of jewellery, $73,000 and US$170 and several documents.
The Police said that during the incident, the businessman was struck about his body by one of the perpetrators who all escaped. Police said that investigations are in progress.
