The police are still struggling to ascertain any information leading to the whereabouts of missing teenager Tenisha Morgan and so are unable to take any further action regarding her disappearance, a senior officer has said.
It is now almost two and a half months since the teen, who is reportedly the girlfriend of Guyana’s most wanted man, Rondell ‘Fineman’ Rawlins, has gone missing. She was heavily pregnant the day she was last seen and had reportedly travelled to Georgetown to stay with relatives in Kitty until she was ready to deliver.
Yesterday a senior police officer told this newspaper that the teen’s mother should have gotten back to the police but she didn’t and there was no further information suggesting where the teen could be. Morgan’s mother, Waple Morgan had reported to police that her daughter had contacted her saying that she was stuck on a dam, then changed her story after she was confronted with telephone records which showed a number of inconsistencies. A police source had told this newspaper that there seemed to be many irregularities as to who first spoke to the teen and exactly when this was done.
This newspaper was told that Waple Morgan had told ranks that the call was first received by a friend and the second time the teen allegedly called, she was fortunate to be next to the friend and when the instrument was handed to her she recognized her daughter’s voice on the other end. She then said when the call was made the friend was not around and the call was received on her niece’s phone.
Stabroek News was informed that the phone call has not been traced to anyone and the police are still carrying out their investigations in spite of the changes in the woman’s story.
Morgan had also told police that her daughter during one of the calls had said that she was stuck on a dam surrounded by bush with a river on one side.
On January 18, this year Morgan was seen at the Berbice bus park where she began experiencing labour pains and was placed in a taxi by public-spirited citizens. That was the last time she was seen.
