Man on shotgun charge

A 23-year-old man was remanded on a possession of firearm  charge when he appeared before Magistrate Hazel Octive-Hamilton in the Georgetown Magistrate’s  Court last Wednesday.

Elvis Piggot of Linden allegedly had in his possession on March 30 one 12-gauge Mossberg pump action shotgun in the  Upper Berbice River area without being the holder of a valid firearm licence. He pleaded not guilty to the charge.

The matter was transferred to the Kwakwani Magistrate’s Court and will continue on April 18.
