The Guyana Relief Council (GRC) says it is grateful to donors that allow it to fulfil its motto “Caring and Sharing” after it rendered assistance to nine families who suffered losses due to fire recently.
In a press release the GRC said it rendered assistance to Trinotyne Petty from a family of four, of 101 Unity Street, La Grange; Kuntie Nauth from a family of four, of 56 Lusignan Pasture, East Coast Demerara; Tulsadai Pooran from a family of five, of 58 Stanleytown, New Amsterdam; Sham Rampersaud of Public road, Friendship, East Bank Demerara (EBD); Gloria Bobb from a family of one and Dorsel Gilkes from a family of four, of 34 Princes Street, Lodge; Jean Moreno from a family of three, of 6 Land of Canaan, EBD and Trevor Fraser from a family of four, of Bushy Park, Mahaicony.
The GRC said too it assisted Juliet Melville from a family of five, of 15 Diamond Sea Dam, EBD on March 13. Melville suffered losses due to fire. The group said for the year to date it has assisted 26 families comprising 99 persons who suffered losses due to fire and three families comprising 21 persons who suffered due to high winds. It said too it provided assistance to five welfare organisations, eight welfare families and one hinterland welfare family.
The NGO said it is grateful to its donors and other like-minded organisations whose assistance allows it to make a difference in the lives of persons who suffer disaster.
