Police yesterday arrested two men: one in Eccles and another in West Ruimveldt in connection with the disappearance of Jiffi Lubes owner, Farouk Kalamadeen last week Wednesday.
Up to press time last night the men, one of whom is said to be known to the police were in custody, a top police official said. Crime Chief Seelall Persaud also confirmed that the men had been detained for questioning in connection with the probe into Kalamadeen’s abduction. A source told this newspaper that the police seized a motor bike and a car from one of the men who was arrested. The man is said to be a known `trunker’ (a person who steals from vehicles).
Meanwhile, family members yesterday said they had not heard any word from the businessman or his abductors, but they continue to pin their hope on prayers. Police had earlier detained a businessman, but released him on Monday. Persaud said the police were tracking several leads.
