The Mayor and City Council is advising citizens that its garbage collectors have withdrawn their services over pay therefore receptacles will not be cleared on Monday.
In a press release the Council said the landfill site off Mandela Avenue is still in operation and householders who are interested in using this facility should call telephone numbers 223-5123 or 223-5126. It said too the contractors withdrew their services after the city failed to meet its financial obligations to them.
The city has had similar problems in the past with garbage collectors because of its financial constraints.
