The Agricola Pump Station was back in operation yesterday after the Guyana Water Inc. rectified the problem that arose when vandals broke into the pump station and stole the company’s electrical cables last Sunday.
The replacement of the stolen cables cost GWI in excess of $500,000, the company said in a press release yesterday.
The problem had disrupted the water supply to residents of Houston, McDoom, Agricola and Evans Philip Park.
Meanwhile, GWI is again urging customers to be more vigilant in protecting the company’s assets against vandalism.
