Alpha United, winners of the recently concluded Mayor’s Cup knockout football tournament will receive their prize today at the office of Georgetown Mayor Hamilton Green, at 11am at City Hall.
Alpha won the annual tournament after defeating Fruta Conquerors 4-3 on penalty kicks in the final held on April 6 and is set to receive the first prize of $500.000.
Two-time winners of the annual competition, Conquerors, will pocket $250,000 and the runner-up trophy while Sunburst Camptown and Uprising will receive $100,000 and $50,000 respectively.
And A.H and L Kissoon and Kei-Shars have donated one three piece suite and one 20” television set for the Most Valuable Player and the highest goal scorer respectively. (KB)
