That’s the scenario when Demerara takes on Berbice in the final round of the Guyana Cricket Board (GCB)/ GTM-sponsored Under-19 limited over competition at the National Stadium today.
Persistent and overnight rain had prevented play at the Georgetown Cricket Club (GCC) ground last Saturday and Monday and officials will be hoping that third time will be a charm for today’s final.
When these two met in the final round of the three-day competition, Demerara needed to win handsomely in order to prevent Berbice from winning the title but were unable to do so and after claiming first innings points ended in the cellar position.
This time around, it is Berbice who needs to win handsomely in order to pull off the double and, with both teams having contrasting starts to the competition, a keen competitive match can be anticipated.
