Newcomer Gavin Todd recorded a plus six to triumph in last Saturday’s Citizen Bank Guyana Inc. Plus, Minus and Zero Format golf tournament played at the Lusignan course.
The tournament, which was played under excellent conditions, saw Todd beating into second position the consistent Chatterpaul Deo who finished with a plus four while club captain, Patrick Prashad was third with a plus two.
Todd also won a special prize for being nearest to the flag in the tournament that attracted 30 golfers.
Chairman of Citizen Bank Guyana Inc. Clifford Reis, expressed gratitude to the players for participating in the tournament.
Reis, who is also a member of the Lusignan Golf Club, called on fellow members to support the club and help it grow.
He pledged the Bank’s continued support in sponsoring tournaments.
Meawhile, the Guyana Publications Inc., publishers of the daily Stabroek News newspaper, will sponsor this Saturday’s Stableford full handicap tournament at Lusignan starting at 12:30 hours.
Club captain Prashad said golfers have until Friday afternoon to register for the tournament and they can call the LGC bar at 220-5660 to register.
Prizes will be awarded to the top three finishers and there will be a prize for Nearest to the Flag.
A representative of Stabroek News is expected to be on hand to assist in the presentation of prizes.
