Dear Editor,
In my opinion, the Demerara Harbour Bridge has deteriorated to such an extent that lives are daily in danger.
The steel plates are worn and brittle; holes are visible; steel patches pose a problem to tyres, presenting spikes. Drivers have had steel plates “flying up” in the face of their vehicles.
I wonder if a team of experts can visit the bridge end to end to assess if the bridge should be operating in its current condition.
Yours faithfully,
Krishna Nand Prasad
