Dear Editor,
My sister-in-law, Mrs Lilowtie Sookdeo, attained the age of 60 years on November 20, 2005. She had worked with Guysuco from September 19, 1976 to September 5, 2005, continuously for a period in excess of 28 years, thus having in excess of 1000 contributions to the NIS.
Her NIS number is A-4291118 and she lives at 173 (O) Eccles Squatting Area EBDem. She is a widow and has no source of income apart from the meagre pension she received from Guysuco.
It is almost now three years since she has been pursuing her old-age NIS pension with the National Insurance Scheme. She has been going to the NIS month after month without any success, always with the same story to come back next month.
I shall be grateful if you can assist in any possible way so that she can receive her NIS old-age pension before she dies, after all it is almost 3 years now since she qualified for it.
Yours faithfully,
Geeta Balram
