The Region Four administration yesterday issued a stern warning to ‘sloppy‘ contractors who fail to carry out works according to specifications.
Regional Information Officer Rajiv Bisnauth in a release from the regional administration office stated that there would also be “sanctions meted out to contractors who deviate from the contract agreement inclusive of timely completion of works.” The release said last year the region was forced to terminate contracts of at least four contractors who either failed to approach the regional administration for the signing of contracts as a result of the slow pace of work or failed to commence work. It said too that the contractors were involved in the construction of roads, drains, culvert doors and the supplying of tubing.
