School of the Nations is hosting an intensive AS and AL course in business and economics at its Georgetown location.
In a press release the school said the Business Studies AS will include modules on Business and the Environment, Operations Management and Business Finance and Accounting. The Economics AS will cover Basic Economic Ideas: Cores one to three. Other Cambridge AS and AL courses will be offered in Psychology, Sociology, Spanish, English Language, English Literature, Physics, Biology, Mathematics and Thinking Skills. The workshop will be held daily from July 8 to 30.
The school said the courses will be conducted by Dr Dexter Phillips; its former deputy head teacher. Phillips teaches at an International School in China and has also taught at international schools and International Baccalaureate (IB) world schools in the Philippines. He also has extensive teaching experience with the Caribbean Examinations Council in Principles of Business Studies and Accounting with the IB Organisation (IBO) at the Standard Level and Higher Level in Economics and Business and Management. The school also said Phillips is an IBO examiner and moderator for Business and Management.
