Achievers defeated Bush Lot in the final of the Bush Lot Sports Club Twenty20 cricket competition sponsored by P. Jagmohan and Sons Filling Station at the Bush Lot Sports Club ground on Monday.
Achievers, Bath Development Sports Club and Bush Lot were the three teams that participated in the one-day competition.
Achievers won the toss against Bath Development, sent them in, and restricted them to 94 – 8 in 20 overs.
Andrew Denis with 36 and D. Ramchan (30) were the top scorers for Bath with Keon Joseph and Carlston Nurse grabbing 4 – 17 and 4 – 34 from two overs for Achievers.
In reply, Achievers reached 99 for the loss of two wickets in only 9.1 overs with Aurthley Bailey and Kenyo Sedoc each contributing 24.
Against Bush Lot, Achievers won the toss and again sent in the opposition who responded with 102-8 in 20 overs.
S. Rahim, 23, and Asif Khan, 11, top scored for Bush Lot.
Joseph 2– 4, J. Reynolds 2–11 and C. Nurse 3–20 were the principal wicket takers for Achievers.
In reply, a man-of-the-match performance of 37 not out by Bailey led his team to victory.
Bailey was also adjudged the best bowler.
The first place prize of $30,000.00 and the Jagmohan Trophy were presented to the captain of the winning team.
