The Guyana Police Force (GPF) on Wednesday received 10 motorcycles to boost its operations.
According to a Government Information Agency press release Minister of Home Affairs Clement Rohee handed over the keys for the bikes to acting Commissioner of Police Henry Greene. Rohee said the bikes will “ensure greater mobility and effectiveness of those ranks that are tasked with the responsibility to ensure that persons who are bent on violating the laws of Guyana, whether on the road or otherwise are held accountable.” Greene said the bikes will be used in the ‘A’ and ‘C’ divisions, at Linden, at the traffic headquarters and in the anti-crime unit.
Meanwhile, the minister said the force must live up to the public’s expectations as it is charged with providing service and protection.
