Minibus parks in the downtown area along Avenue of the Republic between Croal and Robb Streets have been relocated with effect from today.
The changes follow discussions among the Guyana Police Force, the Ministry of Public Works and Communi-cation and the Mayor and City Council, and are in keeping with an order passed by the court to relocate the parks, a police press release said yesterday.
As of today buses plying Zone 40 (Kitty/CVille), Zone 45 (Main Street/Lamaha/ GPHC), and Zone 48 (Sophia) will park on the western side of Stabroek Market Square between Croal Street and Brickdam.
Buses plying Zone 41 (Guyhoc/South) and Zone 46 (Lodge) will park on the southern side of Croal Street between Avenue of the Republic and Cornhill Street. UG/Industry (Zone 44) buses will park on the southern side of Regent Street between Avenue of the Republic and Hincks Street and on East Street between New Market and Middle Streets where a new bus park has been established. East/West Rumiveldt buses (Zone 47) will be parked on the western side of Longden Street between America and Croal Streets and on southern side of America Street between Avenue of the Republic and Longden Street.
Georgetown/Molsen Creek (Zone 63) will now park on the northern side of Commerce Street between Avenue of the Republic and Hincks Street, and George-town/Rosginol (Zone 50) will be parked on the southern side of South Street between Avenue of the Republic and Hincks Street.
Further, Georgetown/ Mahaica (Zone 44) will now park on the southern side of South Street between Water and Hincks Streets and on the northern side of Commerce Street between Water and Londgen Streets.
