Fruta Conquerors conquered Uprising while the Guyana Defence Force (GDF) and the Georgetown Football Club (GFC) played to a stalemate on Friday as the Guyana Football Association’s (GFA) Cellink Plus Premier League tournament continued at the Tucville Playfield. While GDF and GFC appeared to be evenly matched or evenly guilty of not capitalizing on the chances, this was not the case in the other match where Fruta Conquerors clearly showed their superiority over Uprising.
Conquerors drew first blood when Dellon Williams scored in the 34th minutewhile Jomo Hinds extended the deficit on their opponents when he scored in the 54th minute.
Uprising sunk deeper into the mire when Julian Hinds netted in the 67th minute but the clean sheet for Conquerors goal keeper was soiled when he was beaten in the 72nd minute by Rawle Adams.
The competition continues tonight with Santos going up against Alpha United at 18:00hrs and Pele looking for a victory against Sunburst Camptown at 20:00hrs.
