Dear Editor,
Corrupt GRA officers need to face the most harsh penalty since they are robbing the state of taxes when some of us have absolutely no choice but to pay a substantial amount of our meagre earnings in taxes. I share the view of the President that all public officers and public servants whose amassed wealth is disproportionate to their legitimate earnings should be investigated.
Why must a few pay for all of us? Isn’t this unfair? If corrupt practices continue then the popular saying, ‘The rich will get richer and the poor will get poorer’ will hold true for many Guyanese. We cannot allow this to happen!
