GBTI impromptu speech contest

St Joseph High School emerged victorious in the latest round of the Inter-Secondary School Impromptu Speech competition for fourth formers.
 
A press release from the Guyana Bank for Trade and Industry Limited (GBTI) Regent Street Branch said St Joseph’s scored an impressive 696 points while Marian Academy scored 606. 
“The St Joseph’s team showed breadth of understanding of the topics selected,” the judges said.

They selected topics ‘How would you solve the garbage problems in the city?’; ‘Why are people illiterate in today’s world?” and ‘The minibus problem. What should be done?’ Marian chose ‘A trip into the future’; ‘Actions speak louder than words’ and ‘A bank account is essential.’ This match concludes the first round of competition. Dr Joyce Jonas, John Barnes and Sheik Sadik judged the competition.
