Dear Editor,
GWI wishes to respond to a letter in last Thursday’s, May 15, 2008, Stabroek News captioned ‘Sewage is overflowing in Stevedore Scheme.’
Sewage from the Stevedore Housing Scheme is stored in the Tucville Pump Station. Currently, that station is operating as per normal; the station’s reception chamber is approximately 6 feet from the surface.
The station’s waste water chamber is also below surface level. That therefore means nothing is wrong with the pump station.
