Critics of project implementation in some developing countries, including Guyana, have sited the absence of project management or poor project management as one of the primary reasons for the failure of many projects to realize their objectives.
Dey told Stabroek Business that the responsibilities of the local sub-committee of PMIs Southern Caribbean Chapter will include assisting local professionals to facilitate their continuing professional development by providing them with opportunities to attend technical courses and participating in project management-related educational activities; additionally, Dey said the local sub-committee will be seeking to encourage more Guyanese to secure PMI certification.
