Demerara Cricket Club (DCC) and West Demerara powerhouse Canal Number Two Cricket Club will face each other in a Twenty20 cricket match under the lights at the Banks DIH Thirst Park ground tomorrow night from 6pm.
The match is sponsored by the patron of Canal Number Two Cricket Club, Salim Azeez, and will see the victors receiving $50,000 and a trophy while the man of the match would pocket $10,000.
Expected to play for DCC are Guyana/Stanford Twenty20 players Travis Dowlin, wicketkeeper Darwin Christian and all-rounder Christopher Barnwell. They will receive support from Dennis ‘Bitter man’ Squires, the hard hitting Jamal Hinckson, Trevon Garraway and Trevon Griffith.
Canal Number Two have been ruling the roost in competitive cricket in the West Demerara area and will look to notch up another victory.
As such, they will look to former Demerara Under-15 player Kellon Merchant, Avenash Sookdeo, Neil Thomas, Dexter Williams, Ramnarine Rajcoomar and Feroze Karrimulla to lead the charge against their Georgetown opponents.
An admission fee of $200 (adults) and $100.00 for children under 12 will be charged for entry to the venue.
