Dear Editor,
Some time last year I wrote a letter about $800 million being allotted for hinterland road projects and nothing was mentioned about Port Kaituma.
I always check in your newspaper for invitations for tenders for road projects, and in the May 14 issue I noticed road surfacing would be done from Tusu Basin to School Road. Anyone living at Port Kaituma will know that the majority of children who attend school come from as far as Four Miles. These children are the future generation of the country. Can’t we allow them to enjoy proper roads to walk on rather than slushy ones? The school bus that the President gave to the school is lying in the school yard. No one seems to care about these helpless children. Can’t the representative of the government at Port Kaituma please take action to extend the road to Four Miles?
Yours faithfully,
Cecil DeAbreu
