GABA opens new boxing gym at Timehri

The Guyana Amateur Boxing Association (GABA) has established a new boxing Gym at Timehri.

President of GABA, Affeeze Khan, and Vice-president Rudolph Torrington recently met with vice president of the Timehri Community Centre Owen Hollegin and other members and based on the discussions decided to form the Timehri Boxing Gym.

National coach Carl Franklyn is expected to make frequent visits to the Gym.

The executive members of the community centre promised to work closely with the association and Director of Sport, Neil Kumar, towards the development of the sport within the community.

Meanwhile GABA said it would like to encourage all amateur boxing gyms, boxers and enthusiasts to tune in to Channel 9 every Sunday between 7pm and 8pm to learn more about the association’s plans and activities for the improvement of amateur boxing in the country.
