Street Boys must have thought they had this one in the bag, but Players XI led by Jairam Mohabir 3-9 from three overs had other ideas in mind and bundled them out for 72 in 14 overs.
Countryside then inflicted a 47-run whipping on Players X1 in their second game. Countryside took first strike and led by Safdar Ali with 49 (5x6s) and Rakesh Sukhoo 22 (2x6s) reached 141 before being bowled out in the 15th over. Only Ravi Singh (32; 3x6s) and Wayne Narine 21 (2x6s) offered resistance to the bowling of Dindial Lakhan who picked up 3-21 from three at the NIS ground.

It was a marathon of walkovers for the Destroyers at the Everest ground as both their opponents Eccles Sports Club and Bourda Market XI were a no-show. Rapid Fire XI also gained a walkover from Grantville XI when they failed to show up for the match that was scheduled to commence at 14:00hrs at Providence. The competition will continue this weekend.
