A 10-member squad has been named by the Guyana Darts Association (GDA) to compete at the 17th Caribbean Darts Organization and fourth American Cup Championship which is scheduled to take place from July 24 to August 3.
The competition will be played at the Helyconia Inn, St. Ann’s, Port of Spain in Trinidad and Tobago.
Floyd Jaundoo and Andy Muir are the overseas-based male players who will play alongside Norman Madhoo, Mark Semple, Kerry Fitzgerald and Lalchan Rambharose while the women competing are Jacqueline Clarke (overseas based female player), Jean Singh, Jean De Souza and Rosetta Hiraial.
Teams that will be rivalling Guyana include United States of America, Canada, Bahamas, Brazil, Barbados, Bermuda, British Virgin Islands, The Cayman Islands, Chile, Jamaica, St. Lucia, Turks and Caicos and hosts Trinidad and Tobago.
Guyana will be seeking a repeat win of the coveted Men’s singles competition which local men’s singles champion Norman Madhoo won in Barbados in 2006.
Other titles which are to be contested are Mixed Triples, Mixed Doubles, Ladies Doubles, Men’s Doubles, Ladies Singles and the Team Championship.
Currently, the team practises Wednesdays and Fridays at the Saltair Sports Club, Le Meridien Pegasus.
