Persons involved in a four-vehicle smash-up on the Lovely Lass Public Road around 4:45 pm yesterday were lucky to escape without injuries.
Reports are that the accident occurred after a truck, GFF 758, which was heading in the direction of Rosignol, slammed into a car, PHH 4237. The truck then hit the side of a pick-up, PKK 3036 before smashing into a minibus, BKK 1760 and coming to a halt. The car and the minibus were travelling in the opposite direction.
Persons said that because of a funeral in the area the vehicles were driving slowly when the truck came up suddenly and hit them. The owner of the car who gave his name as Darsan said that he was heading to his home at Bush Lot and was almost “crawling” when he looked through the rearview mirror and saw the truck.
Darsan said he attempted to “pull in the corner” but the front left side of the truck hit the back of the car on the right side.
Harry Seebarran, the owner of the minibus told Stabroek News that he had stopped his vehicle when it was hit.
He said the next thing he knew was that the truck slammed into the front of his bus and caused his feet to be “squeezed.”
