Dental Protection Limited recently donated “an impressive collection of new textbooks” to the Cheddi Jagan Dental School at the Guyana high commission in London.
A press release said Dental Director Dr Kevin Lewis, accompanied by Head of Operations for the West Indies and Bermuda Dr Nancy Boodhoo, Communications Manager Dr David Croser and International Membership Adviser Al Neaber presented the books to High Commissioner Laleshwar KN Singh at his office. First secretaries Marion Herbert and Michael E Brotherson, guests and other staff attended the brief ceremony held at lunchtime at the high commission.
In his address Singh told the audience of the progress being made at the local school and in the health sector. He welcomed the close collaboration between the donors and the high commission.
Lewis said “Dental Protection had a longstanding commitment to improve patient safety through education.” He said too it supported dental students in dental schools globally and “it is a real pleasure to have added the school in Guyana to that list.” He said too in the internet age knowledge can easily be shared and he hopes to be able to offer the school access to some of the online educational content in the near future.
