Dear Editor,
Please permit me to provide a brief comment on an article in Stabroek News (June 17, 2008) captioned `Suspected explosive device found at NCC -after small fire damages stage, curtains’.
The article was most disconcerting. This undertaking could only be perpetrated by spineless and callous individuals. Not only are these gutless criminals bent on upstaging Carifesta X, their intent is to maim or kill innocent persons who are conducting preparatory work for this major event.
I trust that PNCR Leader Mr. Corbin, AFC Leader Mr. Trotman, and all other Opposition leaders will strongly condemn this act of cowardice in the strongest of terms since Carifesta X is not a party-related event but rather a Guyanese event. We expect no less from our Opposition leaders.
No decent minded individual in a leadership position should condone this mischievous and malicious action.
