National middle order batsman Travis Dowlin will be looking to continue his good run as captain of the Guyana cricket team when he leads the side in the Guyana Independence Festival Celebrity cricket tournament this week-end at the L’Amoreaux Cricket ground in Scarborough, Canada.
The team which leaves this morning for North America, also includes brothers Royston and Esaun Crandon, all rounders Lennox Cush and Neil Mc Garrell, wicket keeper batsman Derwin Christian, Dion Ferrier, Narsingh Deonarine along with fast bowlers Trevon Garraway, Brandon Bess and Rayon Griffith.
Deonarine is making a welcome return to national duties following a back injury that kept him out of the Guyana/ Stanford Twenty20 competition earlier this year, whilst Griffith has found favour with the selectors for this competition.
Former West Indies `B’ team player and national middle order batsman Rabindranauth Seeram will act as manager /coach/ player.
