Dear Editor,
As a concerned citizen and motorist I would like to remind pedestrians, especially schoolchildren, that they should use a pedestrian crossing, when provided, for crossing roads and stop this dangerous practice of crossing where and when they wish. I would like to say to my fellow motorists that they should be courteous and wait for pedestrians.
With this said I would like to draw your attention to the corners of Woolford Avenue and Vlissengen Road where this dangerous practice can be witnessed regularly as schoolchildren – at times accompanied by parents and teachers – risk life and limb and impede traffic by crossing on the northern side when there is a pedestrian crossing on the southern side.
Yours faithfully,
Flynn Patterson
