Gwendoline Cyrus of 54 First Avenue, Bartica is celebrating her 100th birth anniversary today. She receives best wishes and love from her surrogate children Leslie Allicock and Donna Goring, relatives and friends.
Born in Bartica Grove to Peter Cyrus and Catherine Gill-Cyrus, she first married Leslie ‘Bulla’ Allicock. He died in 1962 and she later married Sigmond Croft, who she also survives.
The centenarian is well loved by many and her relatives refer to her wise words of wisdom, which she has acquired during her expansive lifetime, as “Auntiegwenisms”.
They will commemorate her birthday with a Mass celebrated by Fr Hildebrand, followed by a banquet.
