The DL Chronicles will kick off the pre-Carifesta X SASOD ‘Saturday Nite Movies and Limes’ at Sidewalk Café starting next Saturday.
The DL Chronicles tells the stories of men of colour who by consequence and by choice, live sexually duplicitous and secret lifestyles.
Narrated by aspiring journalist, Chadwick Williams, as he pursues research while authoring a book about MSM (Men who Sleep with Men), the film uncovers a provocative and intriguing world of sexual discovery, denial, betrayal, love and loss. Films will be screened every Saturday in the run-up to Carifesta X from 8 pm at Sidewalk Cafe. As usual, admission is free.
Meanwhile, SASOD presents its Kaleidoscope party tonight in response to the demand for the safe and healthy parties. The party will be held at 288 Middle Street, Georgetown under the theme ‘Spectrum of Colours’ and it begins at 9 pm. SASOD said in a release that a special prize will be awarded to the person in the best Kaleidoscope outfit.
A limited number of advance tickets are available at Oasis Café (Carmichael Street), Oasis Too (South Road), Sidewalk Café (Middle Street) and Polo Sports Bar (288 Middle Street). Proceeds are in aid of SASOD’s work on homophobia, human rights and health promotion.
