Girl dies after lorries collide

Driver flees An 11-year-old girl died while her 7-year-old brother was treated at the Diamond Diagnostic Centre (DDC) after their uncle reportedly lost control of the lorry they were in on the Coverden, East Bank Public Road.

Man gets four years for cocaine at airport

The 59-year-old man who was caught trafficking in cocaine at the Cheddi Jagan International Airport, Timehri was sentenced to four years imprisonment and fined $3.743M with an alternative of six months imprisonment when he appeared before Magistrate Hazel Octive-Hamilton yesterday.

Fire advisory board to report on inspections

After recent inspections of six fire stations, the Guyana Fire Advisory Board (GFAB) is due to report its evaluations to the Minister of Home Affairs recommending measures that can be taken to ensure the needs of the Guyana Fire Service and communities are addressed.
