Gun found on Linden road

Surveyors working on a road at Amelia’s Ward, Linden on Sunday afternoon discovered a 12-gauge Mosberg pump-action shotgun among some bushes, police revealed in a statement yesterday.

The statement said the firearm was handed over to the police who are conducting investigations.

Meanwhile, on that same day, members of a joint services mobile patrol in Bartica recovered an unlicensed .32 CZ semi automatic pistol following a search on a vendor. The police in a statement said the vendor operates at the Transport and Harbours Stelling at Bartica. A magazine containing nine matching rounds was also found in the vendor’s possession.

The man is currently in police custody assisting with the investigations.
