The Guyana Lawn Tennis Association (GLTA) yesterday successfully concluded its two-week Tennis Summer Camp which was sponsored by P&P Insurance Brokers at the Le Meridien Pegasus Hotel Tennis Courts with the group matches and presentation of awards to the participants.
Camp Instructor Shelly Daly said she was not entirely satisfied with how the matches were run and how the players played because of time constraints.
Daly said the inclement weather had taken up a lot of time during sessions and so she was forced to reduce the amount of games played.
“We did not get to run as much games as we would have liked. Instead of five or six games we ended up having to run two to three; for the older children we ran games (sets) and for the younger children, we ran their games on points whereas game can be run that way,” Daly told Stabroek Sport yesterday.
Nevertheless, Daly said she was satisfied with how the camp was run adding that she was very much looking forward to next year’s GLTA Tennis Summer Camp.
