The Carifesta Secretariat is advising the public that items such as firearms, knives and other implements will be prohibited from Carifesta host venues.
In a press release the Secretariat said the Ministry of Home Affairs has outlined a number of items that will be prohibited from venues such as the National Stadium and the National Park.
These include ammunition, toy guns, metal forks, razor blades and sharp, pointed objects such as ice picks, needles, nails, bows and arrows, fireworks, explosive and incendiary devices, flares, narcotics such as marijuana, crack cocaine, barbiturates and amphetamines, glass bottles, mace and aerosol cans.
At the same time, persons will be permitted to enter with retractable umbrellas and folding chairs.
The ministry is seeking the fullest cooperation from the public during the festival as it seeks to provide and maintain a safe and secure environment for Carifesta X.
