The Georgetown Football Association’s (GFA) Courts Inc. Pee Wee under-11 football competition resumed yesterday with four exhilarating matches at the Banks DIH Thirst Park ground.
In results of the matches Fruta Conquerors thrashed Santos FC 4-2; Strike Again defeated Mocha Champ 2-1; Camptown trounced Plaisance Panthers 2-1 and Beacon defeated Pouderoyen 2-1.
Fruta Conquerors’ Romelo Fraser and Ryan Hackett spelt double trouble for Santos Football Club as they each scored two goals to eliminate their opponents.
Fraser pushed his team into the lead scoring as early as the fifth minute but Travis Fitzpatrick equalized for Santos with a seventh minute strike.
Fitpatrick pushed his team into the lead with a 21st minute goal but Hackett scored in the 22nd minute and 29th minutes while Fraser scored his second in the 25th minute as Conquerors ran out deserving winners.
After a goalless first half in the Mocha/Strike Again encounter Kurtis Steele of Strike Again decided that it was time to strike when he darted in a 25th minute goal before Mocha Champs’ Nickolas Adams sent in a bullet of a shot past the goalkeeper in the 31st minute for the equalizer.
Strike Again then struck again delivering the final blow of the match through an Akeem Sam strike in the 36th minute to emerge winners.
Plaisance Panthers Shamar Benjamin scored as early as the fourth minute against Camptown who responded through goals from captain Oziel Small and Jason Williams in the 6th and 25th minutes respectively.
Beacon and Pouderoyen were involved in a nail biting encounter but in the end it was the Beacon team who was victorious at regulation time as Kareem Keywood scored a double in the 39th and 40th minutes while Jamal Archer scored a consolation goal in the 11th minute for Pouderoyen.
