A man, who allegedly caused the death of a boy by driving his mini-bus in a dangerous manner on the Windsor Forest, West Coast Demerara public road in 2006, was granted bail when he appeared at the Leonora Magistrate’s Court yesterday.
Nankishore Suklall of Greenwich Park, East Bank Essequibo (EBE) was not required to plead to the indictable charge of causing death by dangerous driving and was granted bail in the sum of $50,000 by Magistrate Allan Wilson.
It is alleged that Suklall on August 10, 2006, on the Windsor Forest public road drove mini-bus BGG 2468 in a manner dangerous to the public thereby causing the death of Kevin Richard. Following investigations, Suklall was charged. He was ordered to return to court on August 14 at the Leonora Magistrate’s court.
Meanwhile, a man charged with carnal knowledge of a girl was remanded to prison when he appeared at the same court yesterday. Burchell Henry of Parika Backdam, EBE was not required to plead to the charge of carnal knowledge and was remanded to prison by Magistrate Wilson.
It is alleged that last Wednesday at Parika Back-dam, Henry unlawfully had carnal knowledge of the girl, who is under 15 years old. The prosecution objected to bail being granted to him. Henry will return to court on August 14 at the Leonora Magistrate’s Court.
